The undocumented workforce, making up about 5% of US workers, faces Immigration Reform
When decreasing racial discrimination and proposing to increase legal immigration while decreasing illegal immigrations. it would increase the safety of law enforcement officials and citizens especially along the Mexican border. -“on June 27,2013 the border security, Economic Opportunity, many immigration Modernization Act of 2913 was approved. This bill was based on the possibility for many undocumented immigrants to gain legal status and eventually citizenship. It also protected the border between Mexico and the United States by adding 40,000 border patrol agents. New visas have been proposed in this legislation.”
The Dream Act
There are roughly 1.8 million immigrants in the United States who might be, or might become, eligible for the Obama Administration’s “deferred action” initiative for unauthorized youth brought to this country as children.
What is the "Dream Act"?
This initiative, announced on June 15, offers a two-year renewable reprieve from deportation to unauthorized immigrants who are under the age of 31; entered the United States before age 16; have lived continuously in the country for at least five years; have not been convicted of a felony, a “significant” misdemeanor, or three other misdemeanors; and are currently in school, graduated from high school, earned a GED, or served in the military. Within this population of potential beneficiaries, however, are three distinct groups:
The democratic plan includes the approval of the same-sex bi-national rights for couples. Gays and lesbians who are married to “U.S. citizens under state laws cannot obtain a green card. Obama's plan would allow them a path to citizenship.” From Buzz-Feedand the Washington post report.
Difficulty in the Future when President Obama Leaves Term
Schumer (senior United States senator from New York) said it would be difficult to pass Immigration Reform in 2015 and 2016 when the next presidential election season opens given that Republican candidates would be staking out conservative positions on immigration in order to differentiate themselves from Democrats. When republicans attempt to be competitive towards democrats and state a different bill, republicans will face a “boom” with the Hispanic population because of the demographic problems that exist between the border of Mexico and the United States.
Combine the shrinking white vote — it declined as a share of the overall electorate again in 2012 — with the boom in the Hispanic population, and it became evident that Democratic lean is a demographic problem that is only going to get worse for Republicans. That is unless the party can find a way to be competitive — or at least a whole lot more competitive than Romney — among Latinos.
The difference between bills among republicans and democrats haven’t lead to an approval of none. While the death rates, armed incursions, child and narcotics trafficking keeps on increasing.
The Dream Act Should Be Enacted
An idea to add to the immigration reform to be approved by Democrats is that immigrants should be provided with office job opportunities without having High School Diplomas.
